Fanny

Fanny

Owner of the store since 2016, Fanny loves to explore and to try new ways to play with fiber, but she always comes back to knitting.

She knits mostly sweaters, but indulges in a small pair of socks (which she knits with double-pointed needles) from time to time. She likes neutral colors, especially gray and black (yes, she knits black!) and her favorite yarns are untreated and very toothy yarns with a little bit of grass caught in the wool from time to time and she has a big weakness for unconventional plant fibers (especially nettle!)

Fanny likes to say that she's not a fan of colour work, but has been surprised to find herself liking it on a few occasions recently so that might change eventually. She's also a bit of a lazy knitter who doesn't let a little mistake in her knits bother her - it's what gives them personality!

Noemie

Noemie

An inveterate sweater knitter, Noémie likes to start with a pattern she likes, but stops following after a few lines. Her knits are therefore all unique and almost impossible to reproduce!

Her favorite model so far is the Tulip by Melody Hoffmann.

Noémie has 2 knitting styles: endless jersey in front of the TV or colour work with interesting patterns that require concentration (and following a pattern, so she starts over a few times), but, ideally, always with 4mm needles and in pink, of course. She likes soft and bouncy wools like Merinito .

Noémie has been teaching knitting at all levels at La Bobineuse for several years.

Married

Marie

Marie studied textile construction at CTCM where she developed a passion for dyeing, weaving and spinning paper, which gave birth to the Pastel Club!

She loves knitting for the people she loves, but she frogs her personal projects 150% of the time (each yarn is too precious not to be worn!) She would like to be able to follow a pattern but is learning by trial and error (starting a new project is an uncontrollable urge...)

Her current quest: to create the perfect sweater pattern (and knit it for the rest of her life).

In the meantime, she studies her current favorite patterns like the Stella Quilt Cushion by Laura Penrose and the Flower Power Pullover by DEGEN and is keeping a close eye on all the new releases from her favorite designers: Lindsay Degen (intarsia and unusual patterns) and Le Pull (very colorful and trendy).

At La Bobineuse, she teaches crochet at all levels and, occasionally, macramé.

Alice

Alice

Alice is the sock knitting champion in the team. We can't count the pairs she has knitted, sometimes simple everyday models, sometimes more complex models with patterns and textures, always in varied colors and often in one of her favorite yarns, either Bobi Bas Bio or Résistante des Laines Douceur.

She doesn't really have a favorite designer, but likes to spend a lot of time looking for patterns on Ravelry that she doesn't end up taking the time to knit. However, when she decides to start a sweater project, she likes them complex, with lots of textures (especially cables) or very simple, very soft, doubled in mohair!

At La Bobineuse, Alice teaches introductory knitting and, of course, sock knitting.
