Half-and-half Sock Yarn

Here is the very last one for real - for real - wool overdyeing project between La Bobineuse and Le Pastel Club (at least, for now!)

An overdyeing project you say? Let me tell you a story: When I bought La Bobineuse in 2016, the store was full of wool! A fairly minimal selection, but in large quantities. This means that the less popular colours remained on the shelves for a long time...

It is a bit thanks to these unpopular colours that  The Pastel Club was born. My colleague Marie had a crazy urge to give these less attractive yarns a second life and this project of upcycling, reuse and overdyeing immediately charmed me!

We created several beautiful ephemeral collections thanks to this project, but a few cones of pink sock yarn were still waiting their turn in the basement. Today is their time to shine! For the very last time, Le Pastel Club has created magic in their dye cauldrons to overdye these 3 half-and-half colours on pink wool and it's totally magnificent !

And now you want to know, why half-and-half? Inspired by the famous lottery that was ever so popular at baby showers and campgrounds, " a 50/50 draw is defined by a lottery system whose prize to be awarded corresponds to 50% of the revenue from the sale of all tickets participation". We decided to play on this concept, and donate 50% of the profits generated by the sale of this collection to an organization that does good in our neighbourhood.

So it's one more half-and-half: 1 half of pleasure for you who will enjoy knitting this magnificent wool, and 1 half of kindness towards your neighbour!

We have chosen to make the donation to the Atelier le fil d'Ariane : Since its creation in 1971, the Atelier le Fil d'Ariane has enabled hundreds of people living with an intellectual disability with or without associated disorders to develop their socio-professional skills in an environment that meets their needs.
